Geotextiles for rail track beds

GEOfabrics Limited has specifically developed GHP3RT to serve the demanding requirements of the rail industry. It has a full Railtrack approval certificate for use as track ballast separator and drainage wrap.

GHP3RT is distributed on behalf of GEOfabrics to the UK rail industry as Terratex geotextile by Aqua Geocomposites Ltd. About 100 km of track was renewed using Terratex beneath the track ballast.

GEOfabrics Limited, a privately-owned company based in Leeds, has been manufacturing high-performance geotextiles for the construction industry since the early 1990s. In addition to needlepunched, polypropylene geotextiles, the Company operates a state-of-the-art line for the production of composites, up to 6m wide, based on components that include films, membranes, nets, meshes and cuspated sheet which is vacuum formed in house.

Applications for the products include landfill engineering, coastal/river defence schemes and railways.
