Andritz Kusters & PILL sign exclusive pact

As of 1 January 2007 Andritz Küsters GmbH & Co KG, Krefeld, have entered into an exclusive co-operation agreement with regard to sales, production and installation of wet-laid nonwoven production installations with PILL Nassvliestechnik GmbH, Reutlingen.

“This is an important step in the growth strategy of the sector ANDRITZ KÜSTERS NONWOVEN within the Andritz Group,” underlines CEO, Dr Erich W Bröker. “Through the Andritz AG competence on hand in the areas of pulp, fibres, tissue the extension of activities into the area wet-laid is actually a matter of follow-up consistency.”

“The integration of the PILL technology complements our successful product programme in calender and wet finishing technology in a perfect way,” states Mr Andreas Lukas, head of Andritz Küsters Nonwoven. “The technological know-how of the PILL Company and synergies within the Andritz Group now open doors and offer our customers interesting comprehensive solutions for the production of wet-laid nonwoven.”

Mr Helmuth Pill, CEO of the PILL company, has decades of experience in the development, engineering and production of wet-laid nonwoven ranges.

Core of the PILL wet-laid nonwoven technology is the combination headbox/inclined wire part. The well-experienced technologist and developer strengthens the Andritz Küsters team in engineering, process technology and installation of new ranges, upgrades and modifications with immediate effect.

“Through flexibility, innovation and co-operation we now are in a position to offer our worldwide customers individual solutions and project support – right from the very first basic trials down to final delivery of a range. By co-operating with Andritz Küsters I can now narrow down my focus even more as to the needs of our mutual customers in the field of process technology,” states a pleased Helmuth Pill. “Comprehensive know-how in the nonwoven market and dialogue with customers allows us to offer or jointly develop customised products for each product and each application.”

This is why the Andritz Küsters Nonwoven Technical Centre will be extended to include a wet-laid nonwoven laboratory range. Here fundamental research is an equal potential as is individual product development on behalf of customers. Several attractive and technologically sophisticated projects have already been entrusted to the new team.
