Oerlikon sales increase in first half of 2019
The Group succeeded in increasing sales by 5.3 per cent to CHF 700 million, underlining Oerlikon’s structural growth and resilient business model built on technology leadership in long-term attractive markets.
Oerlikon’s sales rise by 3%
Oerlikon Group’s EBITDA was sustained at a high level at CHF 93 million and a margin of 15.0 per cent. EBIT for Q1 2019 stood at CHF 44 million, or 7.1 per cent of sales.
Big upswing in Oerlikon orders & sales
Oerlikon Group’s Manmade Fibers business recorded a substantial uptick in orders and sales, driven by the recovery of the filament equipment market in China.
Challenging times for Oerlikon
The Surface Solutions Segment saw stable sales development in most of its key markets (tooling, automotive, general industries and power generation). The exception was aviation, where an uptick was registered. The filaments equipment market continued its downtrend, in line with China’s 13th Five-Year Plan and Oerlikon’s expectations. However, there appears to be the first light on the horizon and the Segment expects that the filaments equipment market will see a turnaround in 2016.
The two global Swiss giants in the textile machinery´Oerlikon & Rieter ´achieved a double-digit growth in 2014. The Oerlikon Group sustained its strong operational performance and reported a sales increase by 16.1 per cent to CHF 3,215 million, driven by organic and inorganic growth.
