SRTEPC honours RIL with 5 gold trophies
The Synthetic & Rayon Textile Export Promotion Council (SRTEPC), one of the oldest export promotion councils in India, has conferred Reliance Industries (RIL) with a series of awards for its exceptional performance in exports of fibres and yarns. RIL’s president, polyester chain, has also been recognised for his contribution in the textiles industry.

Vietnam eyes $34 bn garment export
Vietnam’s textile and garment industry has targeted a year-on-year increase of 10 per cent in export value to $34 billion in 2018 despite difficulties in markets at home and abroad, according to Le Tien Truong, General Director of the Vietnam National Garment and Textile Group (Vinatex). He recently reported Vinatex’s performance at a meeting in Hanoi.
Egypt’s hometex exports up 4.8% in 2017
Exports of home textiles from Egypt increased 4.8 per cent year-on-year in January-November 2017. Exports during the eleven-month period were valued at $664 million, as against $443 million registered in the same period last year, according to the Egyptian Home Textiles Export Council (HTEC), under the ministry of foreign trade and industry.

Rs 8,450-cr sops for MSMEs
The Indian government has announced fresh incentives worth Rs 8,450 crore to boost exports and support the MSME and labour-intensive industries. The incentive came as a part of the mid-term review of India’s Foreign Trade Policy (FTP) 2015-2020.
Enhanced MEIS & RoSL export benefits a huge relief: SIMA
The Government has increased the Merchandise Export from India Scheme (MEIS) from 2 per cent to 4 per cent for all garments and made-ups and also increased the upper limit of Remission of State Levies (RoSL) for the exports of cotton garments from 1.22 to 1.7 per cent and cotton made-ups from 1.55 per cent to 2.20 per cent.
