| SMIT Textile to present new "920 Series" |
SMIT Textile will present the new "920" series of gripper weaving machines -- GS920 for flat fabrics, GS920 F terry version, GS920 T for technical fabrics -- and the air-jet model JS900. These innovative weaving machines are designed according to the "SMART Platform" (Smit Mechatronic Architecture Reference Technology). It is the newest and comprehensive modularity concept that involves the whole SMIT Textile's machines project -- mechanical, electronic HW & SW and communication systems -- and includes an advanced electronic shedding drive.
Versatility and productivity are boosted up by the perfect synergy between the innovative "920" series features and the recognised textile advantages of SMIT Textile weaving technology. SMIT Textile new "920 Series" highlights:
o New mechatronic controls of weaving functions (weft management, lateral binding, shed formation, auxiliary functions), allowing the "digital tuning" of the machine by the operator from the control monitor.
o New full touch screen control monitor, with 12.1" TFT technology, open system standards, CAN BUS protocol, USB, internet, wireless networking interfaces.
o New main motor drives for minimal energy consumption and highest torque, to ensure the best fabric quality in any weaving style.
o New sturdy machine structure, new distribution of mechanism masses for the greatest stability and the most effective reduction of dynamic loads on the base.
The new GS920 model combines the "920" series innovations with the advantages of the "SMIT Gripper System" characterised by "dynamically controlled" flexible rapier technology, in which SMIT Textile holds undisputed leadership. Beside the new mechatronic solutions, based on the SMART Platform electronic architecture:
o New false selvedges and leno electronic control.
o The EWS Electronic Weft Selector with modular construction up to 8 or 12 colours.
o The EWC-A (Automatic Electronic Weft Cutter) with "self-adapting" regulation of optimal cutting conditions, SMIT Textile discloses the Twin Direct Drive, an advanced machine and shedding drive characterised by highly stiff drive trains that ensure minimal vibration and noise level, low maintenance, minimal energy absorption and heat dispersion, allowing shed electronic setting and programming.
New terry weaving machine to widen creativity in high-end terry sector
Thanks to the "SMART Platform" design strategy, the new GS920 F, combines the "Dynamic Pile Control" -- distinguishing SMIT TEXTILE terry technology -- with the new structural and mechatronic releases of the "920" series. Further specific innovations characterise the GS920 F machine and extend the functional merits of this machine:
o New pile and ground warp control systems: for excellence in pile evenness and weight stability; for top productivity.
o New lateral and central tuck-in selvedges specifically designed by SMIT to achieve the best synergy with the "dynamic pile" system.
GS920 T: Customised and optimised solution for technical fabrics
The SMART Platform modularity concept developed for the "920" series allows major customisations. The most favourable configuration of gripper weaving machine GS920 T for technical fabrics is driven by customer's specific application needs, ensuring always-perfect suitability for every application with excellent insertion rates. Optimal yarn control ensures superior fabric quality and high productivity in technical fabrics such as: high-precision printing, screening and bolting cloths; airbags; industrial and heavy fabrics; conveyor belts, glass, aramid and carbon fibre fabrics.
Advanced features on the air-jet weaving machine
The JS900 air-jet weaving machine, takes from the same modular architecture the most advanced sub systems, to meet top performance requirements, ensuring maximum productivity, absolute operating reliability, top fabric quality.
o Automatic pick finding system with sley at rest.
o Weft insertion available up to 6 colours.
o Full electronic control of airflow through main and auxiliary nozzles for the lowest air consumption are the JS900 functional strengths that ensure top competitiveness over time.
ITMA 2007 exhibition will highlight once more SMIT Textile's commitment to match the customer trust and expectations with its product innovation together with a comprehensive range of customer pre- and after-sales support services and original spare parts availability.
