XTRAC Systems in card clothing

The Indian Card Clothing (ICC) has mastered change to keep its position as a leader - in wires, tops and flexible card clothing. With products developed to handle the evolving needs of increased rate of outputs - going as high as 150 kg/hour. ICC is one of the few companies in the world that manufactures card clothing to process every fibre -- natural or man-made. On every type of carding machine, be it conventional cards or super high production cards.

Thanks to team efforts and its R&D Cell, ICC now has a line of card upgrade products which aim at adding carding efficiency to older cards. ICC's Web Catcher and Accura Carding Elements have added significantly to the returns at hundreds of mills, where they have been installed in the last couple of years. More such innovations are on the testing line.

ICC also offers to supply from its sister concern Garnett Wire Ltd, UK who manufactures interlocking wires as well as metallic wires in heavier cross section commonly used in blowroom lines, woollen, nonwoven & worsted machineries. ICC has satisfied clients in virtually every part of the globe - the far east, south east Asia, Africa, Europe and the America.

A Director from ICC replied to the ITJ Questionnaire. Excerpts:

ITJ: Please tell us about your company, particularly its performance in the last 2 years.

ICC: The Indian Card Clothing Co Ltd (ICC) is a dominant player in the field of card clothing in India. ICC produces the entire range of card clothing, both flexible and metallic suitable for all types of cards to process all types of fibres - both short staple and long staple. The last two years have been a period of consolidation for the Company. New systems, process and designs were implemented with a view to offer consistent high quality products to the customer.

ITJ: Has there been any new machinery introduced recently? If so, give some details about its technology and relevance?

ICC: While ICC has always been at the forefront of technology, our range of card clothing was enhanced to include products for Rieter C-60 card and Truetzschler TC-03 cards.

ITJ: Please explain with some details your participation at ITMA Munich, with special reference to the showcase you have planned there.

ICC: ICC will be participating in ITMA 2007 along with its associate company, Garnett Wire Ltd, UK. The primary objective will be to present the entire range of card clothing to the international customers, with special emphasis on XTRAC SYSTEMS - the recently introduced Stationary Flat Systems, which has many unique advantages.

ITJ: How will you rate your performance in the domestic as well as export markets in the last 5 years. Give some details of the new markets/countries you have opened for your products.

ICC: ICC has always believed in cautious growth, which is both pragmatic and sustainable. Card Clothing, by its very nature, has a long gestation period and requires adequate technical support. 8 branch offices in India, with highly trained and experienced team of engineers provide total support to the customers. In the export market, technical support is given on need basis. ICC has a strong presence in the Asian and African countries. New markets in Europe, South America are currently being focussed.

ITJ: How do you see the Indian textile industry's progress in the global market and what role will your company be playing in future developments?

ICC: Due to the technical skills, availability of raw materials, manpower, the textile industry in India has a very bright future. However, government should step in to provide good quality power at reasonable rates, improve infrastructure including bottlenecks at the ports. ICC is uniquely placed to fully support the growth in spinning industry by supplying high quality products at economical rates.

Bad Times Call for Tough Moves

Despite the crises gripping the world economy in all kinds of forms, the Indian Government has been reassuring the industry that the country will not be affected. This brings hardly any relief to the industry in general.
