'Fabrics in Mind': Dornier innovation hits new high

During ITMA 2007 the Lindauer DORNIER GmbH will present itself with 9 different weaving machines featuring important advances for the weaving machinery market in the areas of energy and resource savings. The new booth concept 'Fabrics in Mind', involving final textile product orientation shows Dornier as a partner to find solutions for textile challenges through the perfected sophistication of the product family of rapier and air-jet weaving machines.

Presenting innovative textile product developments like the Dornier "DrebFabric" and "Blue Mauritius" exclusive label selvedge for the first time Dornier does not just offer weaving machines, but elaborate broader ways for the customers production of technical textiles, home textiles and garment fabrics. These all are areas where its system family of rapier and air-jet weaving machines is the best choice for very different and demanding applications.

Emphasising this new tripartite but centrally integrated concept, Dornier will show during ITMA three machines of its system family for each of these three fields of applications. In technical textiles beneath an open mesh light, but slip resistant EasyLeno® mounting fabric alternating with digital printing fabric, an extremely robust and densely woven cotton conveyor belt fabric will be shown as well as a light but absolutely stable and bullet-proof Aramid fabric.

Highest level requirements of present and future developments in complex technical textiles can be met with our high precision, customisable air-jet and rapier weaving machines. Latest fashion trends are being followed up by three machines in the garment sector. From a high-speed woven Levi Strauss quality denim fabric to the finest multi-colour shirting fabric with large patterning and a newly invented very narrow name selvedge up to a selected wool 120s suiting fabric, the company serve designers for custom-made luxury products as well as the always-in-fashion denim market.

The third area of machinery represents the full range of home textiles. A high quality jacquard bath towel showing our ServoTerry® machine´s possibilities of pile height variations, pleats and the precise transition of 3-, 4- and 7-filling weaves will be woven. On the second jacquard machine a newly designed highly brilliant 16-colour tapestry will be shown, alternating with an elegant upholstery fabric.

The second EasyLeno® machine shows the various filling-patterning possibilities of "DrebFabrics" in upholstery and interior shading fabrics at highest colour brilliance and lowest material consumption. Of course the flexible insertion of all different kinds of fillings will be proven again on both insertion systems such as finest silk, metal yarns and coarsest aramid, heavy cotton or hairiest wool. A special emphasis is laid on presenting patented energy and waste saving developments enabling all Dornier air-jet weaving machines to weave without holding pressure and to reduce filling waste on Dornier rapier weaving machines.

Another highlight of the exhibited weaving machinery will be the Dornier Concept Loom Study (CLS) announcing the technological development of Dornier weaving machinery for the future. Thus the path is set to meet various not yet determined market demands of the forthcoming years in an intelligent and efficient way.

Besides the weaving machinery on the Dornier stand B4, 249/352 there will be 6 additional stands of co-operating partners exhibiting Dornier air-jet and rapier weaving machines. The second part of Dornier´s textile machinery presentation for the first time will be the latest singeing machine type EcoSinge®, with its essential heart, the well established patented circular expander. With this machine, an intensive and optimum singeing effect can be reached for tube diameters from narrow 250 mm up to extremely wide 1000 mm without any selvedge marks.

In the finishing machinery area the whole system family consisting of heat-setting, squeezing, mercerising and bleaching machines will also be showcased.
