Ril to invest $215 mn in US project

Reliance Industries plans to launch a plant in the USA with its purchase of Unifi’s polyester facility at Kinston, NC, for approximately $12.2 million, where it has proposed an investment of $215 million. The former DuPont plant which manufactured partially orientated yarn ("POY") was acquired by Unifi in 2004 but the Greensboro-based company announced its closure just three years later.
