Wrinkle-free technology for cotton fabrics has taken a giant leap forward with Clariant’s launch of high performance, sustainable and innovative Foam Eco Care finishing. The new foam application formula results in increased productivity, improved energy usage as well as improved abrasion resistance and fabric strength, and reduced chemical usage without compromising durable press ratings.

Rajesh Exports, the world’s largest manufacturer of gold jewellery, has announced the company’s aggressive expansion plans in retail sector. The company, which generates revenues of around Rs 20,000 crore through exports and retail, would be opening 550 retail stores of “SHUBH Jewellers” across the four Southern states of India and thus generating revenues of around Rs 20,000 crore through its retail venture by 2014 - 15.

The new automatic texturing machine from the Oerlikon Barmag – unveiled at the ITMA 2011 – proved to be a total success: the company signed contracts for a total of ten eAFK machines. The purchasers are manmade fibre manufacturers from Asia and the Americas.

Lenzing AG, world market leader for man-made cellulose fibres and the German company, smartfiber AG/Rudolstadt are expanding their co-operation. In the future Lenzing will exclusively produce the lyocell speciality fibres smartcel™ and SeaCell® developed by smartfiber at the Lenzing site in Upper Austria. In 2007, Lenzing already granted smartfiber a license for the pilot production of new types of lyocell speciality fibres. Moreover, smartfiber and Lenzing have been cooperating for several years to develop fabrics and on various research projects.

DyStar continues to move ahead of expectations in a tough market, gaining market share and substantially improving on last year’s earnings. All this has taken place in the face of falling market demand and rising cotton costs, as well as wider issues such as the tsunami in Japan in March, political unrest in the Middle East, floods in Thailand in November and ongoing economic instability across the US and Europe.

At the forthcoming DTG 2012 Exhibition in Dhaka, Bangladesh, Monforts will be highlighting its new equipment for the country’s knitted fabrics sector on the stand of its local representative, Bengal Technological Corporation.
