LabMaster, MP Colourmatic, HP Batcher & more

"Water is for living, not for dyeing" – the theme that runs in every campaign of Thies says it all. The careful use of resources protects the environment and strengthens competitiveness. For more than a century the name of Thies has been synonymous with innovation and advances in textile finishing.

Thies production line includes: Jet fabric dyeing machines; Soft-flow fabric dyeing machines; Jiggers - High temperature and Atmospheric; Fully automated yarn dyeing machines and pressure dryers; Loose stock bleaching and dyeing plants; Laboratory and small scale production dyeing machines; Continuous and discontinuous tumblers; Beam dyeing machines for yarn and fabric; Heat recovery units; Control technology for individual dyeing machines and total plants; Fully automated plants and centralised overhead systems; Dyehouse planning and design.

Thies has recently introduced the first 1kg capacity laboratory dye machine to ensure ‘Right first time’ production results with reduced bulk costs. A 1 kg capacity laboratory dye machine, LabMaster, reproducing similar liquor ratio for larger production batches is introduced by Thies Textilmaschinen offering ‘Right first time’ production results with reduced bulk costs.

LabMaster has been designed to achieve high level reproducibility and portability in a wide variety of applications including research and development, quality assurance, laboratory trials. It is ideal for wet processing of narrow woven and knit fabric samples (depending on the type of fabric to a maximum 50 cm fabric width) produced from natural, man-made fibres and their blends. The new LabMaster operates at up to 130ºC with a liquor ratio of 1:5 and higher, depending on the type of fabric and fibre.

Optimum process control is provided with an industrial-based pc, the extent of functions matching the requirements of the machine and ensuring optimum process flow.

Thies other product range includes the new MPS Colourmatic dispensing system, a new high performance HP Batcher for preparation and winding of dye beams, a new atmospheric NT Jigger, a new Luft-roto plus SII, and for yarn dyeing the new eco-bloc quattro.

MPS Colourmatic

The MPS Colourmatic dispensing system provides a precise weighing of dyestuff ensuring ‘Right first time’ benefits. All dyestuff weighing can be carried out at the start of a shift with the correct quantities and mix automatically delivered to the designated dyeing machine when required.

HP Batcher

Thies will introduce its first HP Batcher to provide winding and dyeing technology from a single source. The unit unites the latest automatic control engineering benefits to meet the customer’s requirements to batch fabrics onto dye beams. An automatic winding processor allows precise reproduction of all winding conditions and, in turn, dyeing results.

NT Jigger

To meet increasing demand for smaller batches, Thies has introduced a new atmospheric jigger suitable for dye lots from 1,000 m. Using sophisticated control technology as well as a new concept in spreader systems, the NT-Jigger is ideal for dyeing woven and open width knit fabrics. At the same time it avoids selvedge curl on fabrics with up to 40% Lycra.

Luft-roto plus SII

For the first time the ascending fabric passes through the units liquor nozzle before moving over the transport winch allowing liquor ratios as low as 1:2 for synthetic fabrics to be achieved. An air transport system ensures optimised plaiting of the wetted material into the almost liquor-free, gravity driven, inner rotating chamber.

eco-bloc quattro

The new T-line group controller is installed at the eco-bloc quattro which comes with up to six single machines for small production and lab batches of yarn dyeing. Ensuring continuous reproducibility from ‘Batch to batch’ and ‘Machine to machine’. The T-Line controller controls each function of all machines either in single operation or coupled in various groups.

Airjet spinning: Effect of blending on yarn quality
The increase in production of man-made fibres in past few decades can be attributed to two factors. First, the production of natural cotton, the major natural fibre has not significantly increased. Secondly, the man-made fibres have many superior properties such as uniformity in length, strength, freedom from foreign impurities. In addition...
