Lenzing to display PROMPT, DTI 500 & RAPID 500

At Booth 103/b in Hall 3 visitors will find the exhibits of the Austrian company Lenzing Instruments GmbH & Co KG, offering solutions for the quality control within the fields of filament, fibre, nonwovens, and film production. Lenzing Instruments develops, manufactures and markets testing equipment for laboratory use, at-line use close by the production as well as online systems. Filament producers will be interested in viewing and testing the characteristics of PROMPT, DTI 500 and RAPID 500.

PROMPT is an online system, which gives real time online feedback on some of the most vital properties of synthetic filament yarns, such as titer, evenness, interlace, broken filaments, yarn defects, yarn breaks, fluff and spin finish. PROMPT features the MFS, a Multi Function Sensor, with which all of the above properties are monitored simultaneously. The MFS can be used in combination with the OLT, the online tension sensor for continuous real time feedback of the absolute yarn tension.

DTI 500 is a robust stand alone instrument for the determination of draw tension or draw elongation on the running yarn, giving the operator quick feedback about the molecular orientation of the yarn and thereby predicting its performance in further processing. For the quality control of interlaced yarns, Lenzing Instruments has developed RAPID 500.

This is a table top instrument, which determines the number of nodes over a certain length, their split distance as well as the tenacity of the nodes automatically. The measurements with DTI 500 and RAPID 500 can be carried out on the work floor, directly after the filament has left production. This increases the possibility to react quickly to malfunctions in the production process, reducing waste. Both instruments conform to ASTM norms.

ALFA NMR determines the spin finish content (FOY/OPU) on fibres and filaments by means of the technique of Time Domain NMR (Nuclear Magnetic Resonance). Based on modern analytical technology, ALFA NMR features fast, accurate, non-destructive and solvent-free analysis. The hand-held unit OPUMAT is the ideal tool for a quick and easy check of the oil pick up on the running yarn.

Vibroskop 400 and Vibrodyn 400 are Lenzing Instruments two pioneers within staple fibre testing: First developed in the 60’s, having gone through several updates since then, they now belong to the worlds most used instruments for the determination of titer and tensile properties of staple fibre. Vibroskop 400 and Vibrodyn 400 meet all international standards (ASTM, BISFA, ISO, DIN, …). Additionally to the already existing quality control systems for the nonwovens sector, Lenzing

Instruments now also offers the VDM 01, a standardised vertical measuring system for thickness measurements of voluminous fleece cloths and plastics, both in the dry and in the wet state. VDM 01 corresponds to DIN EN ISO 9073-2. Lenzing Instruments is represented in India by the Mumbai-based Tirupati Technik.

Green initiatives
When we do not recycle goods efficiently, there is a demand for more raw materials, precipitating a pressure on the resources. It is well-known that Europeans discard 5.8 million tonnes of textiles every year, with 75% going to landfill or incineration and only 25% recycled. If the green-conscious west does this,...
Single jersey cotton knit: Finished width prediction by ANN
In cotton yarn knitted fabrics, change of dimension plays role in fabrics and garments at all segments of the production and processing and manufacturer to consumer. Change in width of the cotton knitted single jersey fabric is the dimensional change in...
Rotor Spinning: Influence of opening roller & transport tube parameters
Among the various spinning systems developed to improve productivity, rotor spinning is one commercially established system for coarse to medium counts. Main problem restricting production rate in ring spinning is that spinning and winding...
