NSC's latest Axcess technologies for nonwoven industry

NSC nonwoven has recently launched Axcess, a new range of nonwoven machinery engineered for medium capacity (tonnage) markets whilst maintaining the quality standards of the high capacity ExcelleŽ nonwoven lines.

Axcess offers customers, who do not require the productive capacities provided with NSC's ExcelleŽ production lines, an alternative to obtain drylaid nonwoven lines where lower production capacities and lower capital investment costs are better suited to their corporate strategies. NSC nonwoven launched the Axcess A 30 new range of needlepunch line at the recent Asia ITMA Expo in Shanghai, China where the reception was extremely positive, resulting in the sale of multiple lines with many other projects under consideration.

This strategy move for NSC nonwoven arrives at a particulary favourable time, since the vast majority of the nonwoven producers is eagerly looking for niche markets with added value. The market trend is clearly showing increasing investments worldwide using the drylaid process, and in particular crosslaid Needlepunching. With the technologies now available at NSC nonwoven providing cost effective solutions, it perfectly meets the industry expectation, with special focus for geo-textile, filtration and automotive end applications. NSC nonwoven provides solutions to generate unique fabrics properties with its ExcelleŽ ProDynŽ solutions. It will shortly be enhanced by the IsoProDynŽ system.

The ability to provide alternative lines which enables the customer to purchase the needed capacity at a price point relative to their productive needs without sacrificing engineering quality enables manufacturers in both niche markets and emerging markets to expand or enter into needlepunch nonwovens with economies of scale relative to their needs.

The Axcess range of nonwoven technologies is designed not only for the needlepunch industry but also for alternative bonding technologies where direct web manufacturing lines enable the production of different nonwoven fabrics such as Spunlace wipes with Rieter Perfojet Advantage technology, or with other bonding technologies such as thermal, chemical or laminating for composites nonwoven applications.

The Axcess range of nonwoven technologies includes web forming carding systems, batt forming crosslapping with profile capability, batt drafting and felt drafters, needlelooms and winding systems. The engineering of the Axcess range of machinery is based on the proven technologies of Asselin-Thibeau, and therefore offers its customers a choice of manufacturing capacities tailored to meet their investment and market demands.

Green initiatives
When we do not recycle goods efficiently, there is a demand for more raw materials, precipitating a pressure on the resources. It is well-known that Europeans discard 5.8 million tonnes of textiles every year, with 75% going to landfill or incineration and only 25% recycled. If the green-conscious west does this,...
