Lawson Hemphill introduced the new
entanglement testing software program called ACCU-COUNT ENTANGLEMENT,
ACE during the ITMA Shanghai 2008 show. Lawson Hemphill has been the
leader in providing the tools to count the entanglements in the yarns
for many years.
The new ACE program incorporates the
knowledge based on optical yarn diameter measurement principles to
provide easy to use tools that will require minimum operator involvement
to setup and run the entanglement tests. As with any Lawson Hemphill
equipment, the yarns will be running under dynamic test conditions
during the entanglement test. The CTT or EIB machine will maintain
the speed and tension constant throughout the test
The ACE program will
provide all the statistical results such as Average Entanglement Count,
Standard Deviation, CV%. During the test, the ACE also measures two
important yarn parameters called Maximum Skip and No Show to determine
the sections of the yarn that has been missing entanglements.
One of the
new features of the ACE includes the ability to automatically save the
test data file so it can be accessed by the internal networks to
eliminate paper reports. The program saves the yarn profile for the
entire test length, which is ready to be shared as email. This
eliminates any dispute regarding the entanglement count and its
distribution, in case the yarn has tight spots, bulk variation, etc.
Built-in 3 sigma limit option to sort the yarn packages can be turned
on/off to provide extra quality control tool, when needed.
