- Switzerland’s textile machinery industry is constantly gearing itself to the latest technologies and manufacturing processes. Innovative, needs-based solutions combine with its companies’ outstanding reliability to guarantee customers success in the marketplace.

- SwissTex Winterthur AG, with registered office in Winterthur, Switzerland, is a globally-active manufacturer of equipment and machinery used in the production and finishing of filament yarns. The core activities involve complete spinning machinery for carpet yarns and technical yarns.

- Entitled "New Markets, New Opportunities", this year’s Swissmem Industry Day, held recently, highlighted the opportunities and risks facing Swiss industrial companies that enter new growth markets, especially the BRICS countries. Speakers including Federal Councillor Didier Burkhalter and Swissmem President Hans Hess exhorted their audience of entrepreneurs to specifically exploit opportunities outside Europe.

- Uster Technologies Ltd has launched a new CLASSIMAT® classification system, which was on display at ITMA Asia+CITME 2012. The USTER® CLASSIMAT 5 takes quality assurance to a new level, enabling a deeper understanding of defects and their causes – and finding ways to prevent them.

- The French Textile Machinery Manufacturers Association (UCMTF) invited the press at the end of ITMA ASIA + CITME in Shanghai this June 2012. The informal and friendly meeting made possible direct contacts between the textile journalists and the machinery manufacturers, their Association’s President, Mr Bruno AMELINE and Secretary General, Ms Evelyne CHOLET.

- At the ITMA ASIA + CITME 2012, Savio's booth project was characterised by a glass volume for the house area, 6 metres high, covered in the front part by a 3D maxi logo, meant to catch the visitors attention. In the inner part of the booth, it paid tribute to its centennial history presenting a black and white archive picture dated 1971: Mr Luciano Savio in Beijing with Chinese governor Zhou Enlai.

- Rieter's trade-fair appearance was distinguished by many interesting discussions on the 4 spinning systems and on the complete solutions offered by Rieter. Energy savings and high fibre utilisation were the central focus of visitors' interest. The red armchair from "The Comfort of Competence" campaign will be a lasting memory with visitors to the Rieter exhibition stand in Shanghai.

- ITMA Asia 2012 turned out to be very successful for Mahlo. "Saving Costs - Conserving Resources“ was the topic of Mahlo at the ITMA Asia. For 66-years now Mahlo has been selling increased efficiency for production processes. In Shanghai, the company once more emphasised its role as global market leader of control systems for the textile industry without being limited to it.

- Once again, KARL MAYER exhibited at ITMA Asia + CITME as a technical pioneers and the economically most important manufacturer in the field of warp knitting machines and warp preparation machines. The visitors to this innovative company's large Stand, B 10 in Hall E 5, were treated to a first-class machine show.

- At the combined textile machinery show, ITMA Asia + CITME 2012, held recently in Shanghai, Fong’s booth (810 sq m) was located at the China Hi-Tech Group Corporation Hall's primary position. On the first day itself guests including Mr Wang Tian Kai, Official of China National Textile & Apparel Council and Mr Zhang Jie, chairman of CHTC visited the Fong’s booth.

- The inventors: In close co-operation with reputable customers, the EnergyMaster software package was written by the Sedo Treepoint's development team, according to the requirements of the textile industry.

- The challenge in terms of sustainability: Life Cycle Cost (LCC) refers to the total cost of ownership over the life of an asset. For example, the LCC defines the cost of owning an automobile from the time of purchase by the owner, through its operation and maintenance to the time it leaves the possession of the owner.

- During the singeing process, protruding fibres on textile surfaces are removed with an open gas flame. Gas consumption per material quantity is the crucial factor with regard to process costs. The aim is to use this resource as efficiently as possible.
