KCT bags award for innovative approach
The project on "Cleaner environment in campus using kenaf fibre" carried out by students Niveda and Gowtham of the Kumaraguru College of Technology (KCT) under the mentorship of Dr G Ramakrishnan, KCT, Coimbatore won the All India First prize under Bio cluster in the 1st AICTE-ECI Chhatra Vishwakarma Awards -2017 organised by All India Council Of Technical Education (AICTE) AND Engineering Council of India (ECI) recently in New Delhi.
Kumaraguru College of Technology received All India Second Place in 1st AICTE-ECI Chhatra Vishwakarma Awards -2017, under the Outstanding Institution Award. The problem statement for the competition was “To convert existing institute into smart institute using innovative approaches”.
The Council received 965 nominations from teams comprising of 3-4 members in each team. Nominations were received from teams from 23 States. All nominations were further shortlisted based on parameters like – innovation, implementability, cost benefit, eco-friendly, and its social impact factors.
Awards were given by the Minister of State for HRD, Satyapal Singh in the presence of AICTE Chairman, Member Secretary ECI and others.
