Anti-dumping duty on VSF from China
The Indian Government has imposed anti-dumping duty (ADD)—ranging between $0.180 and $0.194 per kg—on viscose staple fibre (VSF) imports from China. The Finance Ministry has announced levying of ADD ranging from $0.103 to $0.512 per kg on VSF imports from Indonesia.
The duty, which would be in place for five years, has been imposed following recommendation of the designated authority in the Commerce Ministry last month. The petition seeking ADD was filed by the Association of Man-Made Fibre Industry of India. Grasim Industries, one of the association members, is the sole producer of VSF in India.
