Techtextil India—the premier business event for the technical textile and nonwovens industry players in India—will return to Mumbai this September with a host of new innovations and latest market insight of the technical textiles and nonwovens. The event is being organised by Messe Frankfurt Trade Fairs India Pvt Ltd and is part of the company´s international portfolio of 45 fairs that highlight innovations and show what is driving the global textile industry.
The most important business platform of its kind, Techtextil India from its launch edition has been drawing attention to the entire technical textile and nonwoven industry value chain with its 10 product groups and 12 application areas of agrotech, buildtech, clothtech, geotech, hometech, indutech, medtech, mobiltech, oekotech, packtech, protech, sporttech and facilitate exposure of domestic players to the global market. Expectations for the fourth edition are high as the exhibition promises a pure business and learning environment bustling with networking opportunities.
The exhibition also comes at an important juncture when as many as six new textiles clusters have been announced in the recent Union budget of the Indian government. Visitors at the show can team up with the right partners for their sector requirements and also analyse the global market in the process.
Alongside the exhibition, Techtextil India Symposium will bring subject experts in spheres of machinery, raw material, nonwoven and technical textile for an annual forum on September 25, 2015 at the fairgrounds. Covering innovations for manufacturing sector, raw material application and developments and future market outlook, the symposium will provide an interactive platform for exchange of views on the opportunities & challenges in the industry.
In an interaction with the Editor of the ITJ, Michael Jaenecke, Director, Messe Frankfurt Exhibition GmbH, Germany, discusses how Techtextil India 2015 will be different from the previous editions, and the market for technical textiles in India. Excerpts from the interview:
ITJ Editor: How do you think this Techtextil India 2015 will be different from the previous editions?
Michael Jaenecke (MJ): Techtextil India has truly established itself as the pivotal exhibition dedicated to the technical textile and nonwovens sector for the Indian sub-continent. Growing in scope and quality, the 5th edition will have a number of new exhibitors from India such as AB Card Clothing, CHT India, ITEMA Weaving, Scaps Technofab, Unifab, and several new overseas exhibitors on board who will be exhibiting first time at the show.
As a Messe Frankfurt business event supported by the Office of the Textile Commissioner, Indian Technical Textiles Association (ITTA) and Coir Board, Techtextil India continues to be the platform for business, knowledge and innovation.
ITJ Editor: How many exhibitors are likely to participate in this edition? Is it introducing any new trend in this aspect? What are your visitor´s expectations?
MJ: Despite the industry showing signs of a slowdown, the trade fair continues to have a very strong market response. As of now, we are confident to reach the same number of exhibitors as last time. Currently, there are representations from Austria, Belgium, England, India, Italy, Switzerland and the USA while countries with pavilions at Techtextil India 2015 include China and Germany. Many companies are in the pipeline and sales is still going on. In the past, many of these companies have used Techtextil India as their launch strategy in the past and will be introducing or demonstrating their latest products or new product segments at the show giving visitors a first-hand experience of the developments in fields of technical<
