Sri Lakshmi Fire Controls achieves 50% growth

Sri Lakshmi Fire Controls was founded in 2012 by AS Venkat Krishna, who is well experienced in fire protection field. Sri Lakshmi Fire Controls has a technical collaboration with German-based GreCon, a leader in fire protection system with more than 2,00,000 successful installations around the globe. AS Venkat Krishna, Chief Executive Officer, Sri Lakshmi Fire Controls, spoke to The Indian Textile Journal in an exclusive interview.

Excerpts:

ITJ: How has your company been doing in the last few years -- in terms of new product and technology launches?
ASVK:
We are doing extremely good. We have a strong technical collaboration with German-based GreCon, who are pioneers in fire protection systems. Our aim is to provide world-class products and services at an affordable price. Combination of German technology and our excellence in services has helped us to achieve this within a short span of time.

We have successfully installed more than 700 spark diversion systems, 70 metal diversion systems, 79 automatic fire extinguishing systems for bale plucking machines in various plants of the textile industry. Based on our product performance and excellent services, we have won the trust of our customers, including several corporate customers like Arvind Group, Raymond, Premier Group, KPR Group, Nitin Spinners, RSWM Group, Shri Bhagirath Textiles, Chiripal Group, Mothi Spinner, to name a few.

For most of the customers, we have supplied our products for the first time and later have received repeated orders from multiple plants. As a new product, we have supplied automatic fire extinguisher system for circular bale plucking machine. Sri Lakshmi Fire Controls has also supplied daylight spark detectors, which are used in places that are exposed to sun light or other electric lights. We supply special types of spark detectors for high temperature applications like stenter machines. We also supply highly reliable air sampling types of smoke detectors for warehouses with LOGICSENSE pattern of fire recognition for high degree of false alarm immunity. Sri Lakshmi Fire Controls also supplies thermo detectors, open flame detectors, hot particles and glowing embers detectors.

ITJ: Can you give us the USP of some of your important machines and products for the textile industry? How has been market that you have been serving doing in the past and currently?
ASVK:
Metal detection: Our metal detection system has a special feature called POSITIVE SPEED SENSE, which differentiates the velocities of moving metal objects and accordingly adjusts the delay timings of the diverter gate to return to its original position automatically. With this, we ensure more accuracy and quality metal detection and we are able to achieve 100 per cent result in metal removal.

Spark detection: The spark detector detects the spark, even before it reaches a distance of three meters before the detector?s position. It never gives a room for the spark to travel across our detector?s location. It provides 100 per cent fire-free environment for production.

All above points makes our system as the highest sensitive detector in the world with fastest response time. Even if there are any foreign, the detector continues to detect without any interruption.

Our detecting systems do not require a process of cleaning and maintenance. There is no fear of wax or oil deposition over the sensors. Also, as unique feature, our system has a Self Diagnosis option to ensure the effectiveness of the system every four hours. All the above points make our system a 100 per cent foolproof safety system in the industry.

We have a consistent growth year on year. In the first half of this financial year, we have grown with 50 per cent increase in our turnover as compared to the last financial year.

ITJ: Are you planning any new launches, including expansion and diversification? Please give some details.
ASVK:
In order to meet the market demand, there is always a need to increase the productivity and services from our end. We are in the process of expanding our production and simultaneously focusing on R&D to come up with new innovative products and solutions. We are also planning to increase our manpower to attend the expected demand in production, R&D and services.

We have also started supplying fire protection systems to commercial sectors like shopping malls, hotels, schools, colleges, hospitals, storage houses, server rooms, etc. We are also looking for new strategies in fire protecting system in a holistic way.

ITJ: What are your views on the recent Government?s proposals to boost the textile and clothing industry? What is your vision of textile industry by 2020?
ASVK:
The Union Government has approved a Rs 6,000-crore special package for the textile and apparel sector to create one crore new jobs in three years, attract investments of $11 billion and generate $30 billion in exports. We hope this would help the textile industry to make a great leap in the upcoming years. Also our new Textile Minister, Smriti Irani is more active in taking several initiatives to help and promote the industry for survival and growth. Several textile organisations like SIMA, etc have met her and expressed their difficulties and expectations. As far as cotton issue is concerned, even though the Union Minister has agreed to form a core committee to handle cotton price stability issue, CCI should ensure the availability and price stability in all times (both on-season and off-season).

We hope the new Minister would address all issues related to TUF and regarding the relaxation of EPCG obligation shortly. By 2020, India would be the largest supplier of textile products throughout the globe.

ITJ: What is your wish-list for the textile industry and the Government with a view to give a fresh impetus?
ASVK:
First and foremost, the Government needs to promote more cotton cultivation throughout the nation. We also need to focus on scientific methodologies to hold a clear data on the availability of cotton and should have a clear forecasting data of the industrial need of cotton.

Regulatory body for cotton has to play a vital role in balancing the demands of both without the intervention of speculators to ensure availability of cotton throughout the year with better possible price. Our Government needs to promote new special economic zones especially for textile industry. Since power being the primary challenge in the current textile world, our Government should concentrate on new power generation units in order to ensure uninterrupted power supply with special tariff for textile units at an affordable price.
