"We get repeat orders from overseas buyers"
RK Shah, MD, Rishabh Sagar Textile Equipments, started manufacturing textile spinning equipment by developing the very first cot grinding machine in the year 1969 and creating the brand, which is now globally recognised as SAGAR. In an interview with ITJ, he shares about the important export markets for the company.
Excerpts...How has been your company doing in exports in the last few years? What are the strategies used to develop these markets?
Good in quality. We are doing the export business by appointing the sole marketing agent. We are using our strategy to develop the market by giving good quality products, competitive price and providing aftersales service to the respective customers on time.
Which are the countries to which you have been exporting your products? Which are the new countries you have recently made breakthrough?
Recently, we have exported our machines to Marzoli, Italy for their turnkey project for Algeria and Taiwan through our agent.
What are the various products that are being exported? What are their special characteristics/USPs?
Total textile roll shop equipment and other spinning equipment like auto flock clearer cleaning machine and semi auto bobbin stripping machine.
In textile machinery and accessories exports, what are India’s weaknesses and strengths? What is your recipe for the industry and the Government to promote textile machinery and accessories exports.
No proper quality and aftersales service by other exporter. But in our case, we are maintaining good quality as well as good packing and aftersales service due to which we are getting repeated orders from the overseas customers. We insist that the government should provide the substantial support for promoting textile machinery and accessories export in the global market, and our council, Engineering Export Promotion Council (EEPC), should keep a separate portfolio for the textile machinery and accessories in their monthly magazine with the market study report.
