Stöhr introduces latest innovations
Südwolle Group, a leading yarn producer of pure wool and wool blend worsted yarns, exhibited at Techtextil. Stöhr, the company’s division specialised in yarn solutions for the automotive sector, aircraft seating, personal protective clothing/PPE, as well as home textiles, showcased various innovations, together with its sister company Tenowo (Hoftex Group).
The company introduced a new type of pleated blinds, elaborated in cooperation with Neutex (Hoftex Group) that is based on a wool yarn. The combination of a melting fibre with wool enhances this application that is traditionally composed of synthetic material. Wool as naturally anti-bacterial, odour-resistant and moisture-regulating fibre neutralises odours, reduces noise and enhances the room climate.
Another highlight was fabrics made of wool yarn blended with biodegradable Polyamide 6.6 Amni Soul Eco, a fibre developed by Solvay Group. In addition to being durable, moisture-regulating and recyclable, this combination is said to be a more eco-friendly alternative for textile applications that biodegrades in five years, if disposed of in landfills (tested following ASTM D5511).
“For Südwolle Group, Techtextil is an important platform to showcase technical yarn solutions. Stöhr concentrates on technical applications that are individually developed with every customer, to perfectly match its specific needs,” the company says.
