Increased production due to Rieter's conversion
Production at the spinning mill increased by 40 per cent to 100 per cent with Rieter’s card C 70.
Rieter’s customer Honghai Hangzhou Textile Co Ltd is very successful on the market with its viscose yarns. Increased demand meant the company was looking for ways to increase production and was able to achieve this with new technological parts.
Honghai Hangzhou Textile Co Ltd is a subsidiary of the Hongfeng Textile Group and is located in Hangzhou, China. The company invested in a Rieter plant with semi-automatic rotor spinning machines. The customer produces 50,000 tonnes per year of Ne 10 and Ne 30 viscose yarn. The yarn is well known on the market and demand is high. The yarn is sold in China to the Zhejiang, Fujian and Guangdong regions and is also exported to international markets such as Brazil and Turkey.
In 2016, Honghai faced a very high demand for viscose yarn. The already high performance of the cards C 70 with 80 to 115 kg sliver per hour was unable to meet the demand. Rieter recommended upgrading the cards with new parts in order to increase production. Important for the customer was keeping the quality level of the sliver, even at higher speed.
Following Rieter’s recommendation, Honghai decided to test various new technological parts. Among other things, this included an aerodynamically optimised profile, the so-called tongue, that influences the transition of the fibres from the card cylinder to the doffer. During the trial period, the company ran two cards very successfully with a production of 160 kg/h each while maintaining the high sliver quality. Based on the positive results, Honghai decided to upgrade its remaining 68 cards with the recommended parts.

The company was able to quickly adjust to meet the new situation on the market for viscose yarn and also expand its position in the market.
