MMF: Daring to fly higher!
For the man-made fibre industry (MMF) in India, its disgruntlement is turning into unceasing aggression. The reasons are many: China exports 65 per cent of manmade textiles out of its exports of $650 billion while India´s share of manmade textiles is hardly 20 per cent out of its exports of $40 billion.
Knitted fabrics excluded from MEIS benefits!
The government has announced a revised list of textile products eligible for benefits under Merchandise Export from India Scheme (MEIS).The fresh list issued by the DGFT included exports of cotton fabrics to Bangladesh and Sri Lanka for 2% credit benefits, but excluded value-added items like knitted fabrics under MEIS scheme.
Simpler process needed to avail duty sops: Texprocil
The Cotton Textiles Export Promotion Council (Texprocil) has urged the Centre to reduce the level of value-addition and simplify the process to get duty concessions under the Advance Licensing Scheme.
