India to hit $7 bn in MMF textiles exports in 2020: SRTEPC
Exports of Indian man-made fibre (MMF) textiles is expected to reach $7 billion by the end of fiscal 2020-21, witnessing a growth of at least 10 per cent from the current level, according to Ronak Rughani, Chairman of the Synthetic and Rayon Textiles Export Promotion Council (SRTEPC).

Plain Vanilla will not work in 2020
India’s textile sector is under stress with 2019 turning out to be a challenging year. The country’s exports of textile and apparel declined by 4.3 per cent to $22 billion in the first seven months of FY2020 (April-November). While cotton yarn was a major casualty with 37 per cent decline (whereby exports to China alone halved), growth of apparel exports continued to be anemic.
Freudenberg acquires Filc
Freudenberg, the global technology group, has signed a final agreement to acquire 100 percent of the shares of Filc. Filc is a producer of needlepunch nonwoven textiles and laminated materials with a focus on the automotive and construction industry.
