Global apparel output up 1.9%
Global apparel production in the second quarter increased 1.9 per cent, but was outpaced by global textile production, which grew 3.8 per cent.
BRUCKNER invests €40 mn in new production site
In September 2016, the building works for the new production site of the German textile machinery producer BRÜCKNER have begun. The company will invest 40 million Euro in estate, buildings and machinery. The completion is planned for the end of 2017. Since 1960, the production site of the German producer of textile machinery BRÜCKNER is located in the Bavarian town Tittmoning. With about 180 employees and workers at this site, the company produces every year about 120 machines and lines 95 per cent of which are exported all around the globe.
EvoTape: The (r)evolution of tape production

The technology used for manufacturing tapes has remained the same for many years now. Although minor optimisations have been achieved with regards to the production speed, there have been no quantum leaps in the technology. For this reason, there has been very little replacement investment over the years.
Bid to stem fall in cotton output
For the cotton season 2015-16, the Cotton Advisory Board (CAB) has revised the cotton production estimate. It now stands at 338 lakh bales as against its earlier estimates of 352 lakh bales.
Global yarn output up, fabric down in Q1/2016
The global yarn production increased in Q1/2016 quarter-on-quarter. Thereby, output in Asia and South America rose on a quarterly basis, while it decreased in Europe. On an annual basis, the global yarn production in Q1/2016 improved versus Q1/2015 with positive growth rates in Asia and Europe. Global yarn stocks fell in Q1/2016 quarter-on-quarter. Yarn stocks were reduced in Asia and South America, while they remained unchanged in the other regions. Year-on-year, global yarn stocks increased. Yarn orders in Europe and South America improved quarter-on-quarter and year-on-year.
